Bruceville-Eddy ISD Superintendent Richard Kilgore, in his 37th year in education, was named last week to the UIL Legislative Council. This will be his 4th term to serve on the Council. Members are elected by their peer Superintendents. He will be representing Class 2A Region III from 2023-2027. This region extends from Central Texas all the way to the Louisiana border. The UIL Legislative Council is a rule-making body composed of 32 public school administrators. The Council acts on proposed amendments in UIL Academics, Athletics, Music and Policy.

Regarding Masks:Per Governors order no government entity in Texas including public schools can require people to wear masks.So BEISD can not require students, teachers, staff or parents to wear masks on campus.Masks are optional, so of course any or all of these groups may choose to wear a mask.
