Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Daniel J. Valdez

Hello, my name is Daniel J. Valdez Jr., and I am excited to be teaching at Bruceville-Eddy High School! I am originally from Beaumont, TX, a city that is about an hour East of Houston. I attended Lamar University to obtain my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English. I graduated with the former in 2019 and the latter in 2021. After graduating with my master's degree, I decided to step back a bit from academia and instead focus on getting out into the workforce. So, I applied to BEISD and they asked me to be the new ELA 1 and 2 teacher. I am glad to say that I accepted the offer and am transitioning well into the environment. My interests and hobbies include reading, writing, hunting, chess, cards, board games, and old movies. I have been an editor for the book Collapsing into Possibility by poet Jerry Bradley, as well as a few other small projects. I have also had a few of my writings published. While I enjoy teaching and will be sure to give 110% to make sure your children learn well, my future goals involve earning a PhD and teaching at the university level. But for now I am here and ready to do the best I can to make sure your son or daughter earn the skills they need to write, read, and speak well.
