I want to thank you for your interest in BEISD and invite you to become involved in the activities of our school and community.
Time will tell in which direction the state will move in terms of cutting more aid to schools. The BEISD faculty and staff takes great pride in working in a school system that produces outstanding learners, while all the time maintains a sound financial foundation. I encourage you to take in a Fighting Eagle football game, boys cross country meet, Lady Eagle basketball or softball game or attend any of the numerous competitions our students participate in. I look forward to working with each and every one of you. Have a Great 2012-2013 School Year!
Lamar University Center for Executive Leadership
The Center for Executive Leadership at Lamar University has announced that Superintendent Richard Kilgore from Bruceville-Eddy ISD, is the recipient of a scholarship to attend the Lamar University Superintendent Academy, an advanced leadership training program on Lamar University's Beaumont campus. According to its Executive Director, Dr. Bob Thompson, participation in the program is by invitation only. The 22 Superintendents in the 2012-2013 class were chosen from a list of approximately seventy-five nominees from Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. "To be selected is an honor not only to the superintendent" Thompson said, "but also to his or her board and district". "Without the support of forward-looking boards, no superintendent could have achieved the level of success and recognition necessary to be selected to the Academy". Other superintendents selected for the program are from such districts as Texhoma, Commerce, Pflugerville, Deer Creek, Lancaster and McAllen ISD. The Academy will go to Columbia University in New York in October, for part of the training. "I consider this academy an honor and a privilege to be selected to be a part of, and I look forward to reviewing the latest technology for enhancing student learning and participating in the advanced leadership training ". Kilgore said. "The year-long Academy is designed", Thompson says, "to provide the most professional growth opportunities with the least amount of time away from the district".
